Northwestern University’s New Master of Science in Epidemiology

Northwestern University’s Program in Public Health is announcing a new Master of Science in Epidemiology. This degree will provide rigorous, fast-paced training to prepare students for careers in public health and clinical epidemiological research.

Unique features of the MS in Epidemiology include:

• In-person 1-year program (starting in Summer 2024).
• Thesis project centered on active, real-life epidemiological research conducted under the mentorship of practicing physician-scientists.
• Beneficial for students interested in applying to medical school—classified as “academic record-enhancer” by the Association of American Medical Colleges.
• Build relationships with Northwestern University’s world-class epidemiologists.

Data science is rapidly transforming public health, driving the need for a new generation of leaders well-versed in epidemiological methods. Future physicians and scientists must be ready to adapt to shifting health and technological landscapes while also fostering a more equitable public health ecosystem.

Designed and overseen by some of the nation’s leading researchers, Northwestern University’s new Master of Science in Epidemiology is built to prepare today’s generation for the challenges that await.
