We have supportive and dedicated faculty who are invested in our students. As a student in the Cal State LA Master’s in Mathematics program, you’ll study the central areas of mathematics needed for success in a PhD program in mathematics, and you’ll have opportunities to get one-on-one mathematics research experience with a member of our faculty.

"As a student in our Master’s in Mathematics program, Cynthia did applied mathematics research with Professor Melisa Hendrata on cancer modeling. The photo to the right shows her presenting her work at a conference. She is now in a PhD program at UC Santa Cruz."
