Omaha-Offutt Chapter of the AMS/NWA Meeting
The Omaha-Offutt Chapter of the AMS/NWA will be having its next meeting on Wednesday, April 23rd. Evan Kuchera, Chief of Science and Services with the USAF 16th Weather Squadron, will be presenting his talk:
16th Weather Squadron: Weathering the Storms to Provide Superior Environmental Information for National Security
The 16th Weather Squadron rapidly innovates, exploits, and operates cutting-edge software applications to generate environmental insights to support national interests. In addition to describing this mission, the talk will also discuss the challenges and opportunities stemming from COVID, the change from an anti-terror to a peer competition mission, the AI/ML revolution, and an antiquated government bureaucracy struggling in an increasingly complex and fast-changing world.
The meeting will take place at 6 pm at DJ's Dugout in Omaha: 777 N 114th St, Omaha, NE 68154.
