The Microbiology Club has several exciting activities planned for this fall. In collaboration with Breanna Butler, a returning club officer, the Microbiology office has started to plan out some activities to enable participation wherever you are. In person interactions this fall may be limited but will use this opportunity to play in the mud and use microbiology to make our own food. Of course there will be opportunities to invite faculty to present on research and listen to microbiology related seminars. A few activities are noted below and the club welcomes suggestions.
Three proposed activities:
1. This semester we are planning on club members playing in the mud and learning about microbial diversity through making their own Winogradsky columns with household materials.
2. We also are planning on some home-based food science activities that will be both fun and tasty!
3. Remote seminars of interest to all budding Microbiology enthusiasts.
Contact the Microbiology Office or speak with your advisor if you are interested in joining the club to mingle with the micro-minded community. microbiology@unl.edu
