Collaborative Biosecurity Laboratory Student Worker
Duties: Perform general lab maintenance and assist with biodefense research projects involving bacteria, viruses, and other biological agents. There will be opportunities to learn a variety of lab techniques such as virus isolation and propagation, plaque assays, cell culture, and qPCR. There will also be additional opportunities to work on nanotechnology and advanced materials engineering. Students who can work independently once trained are preferred, though other lab members can provide support when necessary. Many opportunities for interaction with faculty from UNL, UNMC, and NSRI, as well as publications and presentations will be available.
Hours are flexible and can be adjusted to fit your schedule. Up to 20 hours per week during classes and up to 40 during breaks. We will pay you the maximum the University will allow based on your prior experience and credit hours completed.
