We will now transition to weekly random mitigation testing. Each week, a random portion of our students, faculty and staff will be required to do a saliva-based COVID test. On Thursdays, those selected for the random testing will receive an email asking them to schedule a test between Sunday-Wednesday of the following week. Their Safer Community app will show the need for a new test in the “next step” section.

Recognizing that microbial sciences, just like microbes, know no borders, the American Society of Microbiology (ASM) and the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) have come together to launch a new initiative -- the World Microbe Forum, taking place online from 20-24 June 2021.
If you are conducting Undergraduate Research, considering speaking with your Research Mentor about supporting your registration fees to this event. If you are unable to attend the forum this year and are graduating, ASM conferences provide job opportunities as well as interviews and career networking.

The Center for Biotechnology is accepting applications for the Milton E. Mohr Biotechnology Scholarship and Fellowship Awards Program for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a degree program in Biotechnology.
