Dear Strings Lover,
Not unusually, the Glenn Korff School of Music at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is hosting its 10th Anniversary Spring Strings event for high school freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors. Quite unusually, this event is a ‘join us-from-your-living-room’ Zoom event, and we’re excited to bring this to you!
This free event take place on Saturday, March 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We will start with a one hour ‘tutti’ session of instruction and information for us all. Then at 11:00, we will break out into instrument groups with our faculty: Albany Records recording artist David Neely (violin), Lincoln Symphony Principal Violist Clark Potter, cellist with the Trio Nuovo and Concordia String Trio Dr. Karen Becker, and EMI and Innova recording artist bassist Dr. Hans Sturm.
Have your instrument with you and participate with your friends and peers as we dive into the repertoire and techniques of strings. If you have a solo prepared and would like to receive some feedback, we would be delighted to assist you, though get your reservation in early to ensure you get a spot. If interested in playing a solo, let us know what music you plan to play.
Once you register, you will be sent a Zoom link on March 12th. Thank you and let us know if you have any questions.
