GKSOM’S Le wins Honorable Award in International Competition

After carefully evaluating each element, the American Youth Musician Union recently announced its warm congratulations to University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music student Anh Le of the Honorable Award of the 2021 American Music Talent Competition for an extraordinary and inspiring performance.

Le is an undergraduate student in Music Education major at the GKSOM with an emphasis in Voice, studying with Dr. Kevin Hanrahan. She earned the Voice Education Diploma in 2014 at Ho Chi Minh Conservatory of Music in Vietnam. In order to continue pursuing her journey in a new country, she took the opportunity to come to America six years ago to expand her ambition and desire in the world of music.

She had music teaching experiences when she was 18 years old as she began her career as a piano teacher for a private studio. She received many different types of scholarships and the most important items were annual scholarships during her academic years in Vietnam. In her freshman year at UNL, she was honored to receive the Evelyn Peterson Scholarship.

The 2021 American Music Talent Competition is an International Music Competition and open to all school students and adult solo performers, ensembles, and small orchestras of all nationalities and countries. All instruments, including Piano, Strings, Woodwinds, Brass and Voice were welcome to participate in the Audition. Participants were required to submit a video recording as a part of their application materials to enter into the Audition.

The American Youth Musician Union is a non-profit organization founded by a group of American professional musicians, pianists, singers. The role of AYMU is to promote traditional and contemporary classical music art for the benefit of enriching the musical and artistic experience of its members and fostering the mutual understanding and appreciation of cultural diversification in the communities we live and share. Since its inception, AYMU has been working in alliance and corporation with many classical professional groups and organizations, such as arts center, associations, instrumental groups, vocal ensembles, dance studios, music & art academies, etc. to introduce various entertainment and educational programs and conduct numerous performances for the people in the communities of great Washington and East Coast regions.
