The University of Nebraska Percussion Ensemble and Nebraska Steel present their final concert of the academic year on April 26 at 7:30 p.m. The Percussion Ensemble will perform Associate Professor of Percussion Dr. Dave Hall’s octet “Entropy Variations” as well as Anna Ignatowicz-Gli?ska’s “Sequentia Persistence” and Third Coast Percussion’s composition “Niagara.” The Percussion Ensemble will close the first half of the concert with the premiere of senior percussionist Andrew Wray’s composition “Daydreaming in the Rain.”
Nebraska Steel (the first and only university steel band in Nebraska) will perform senior percussionist Olivia Boldt’s arrangement “I Can’t Stay,” as well as Kendall William’s “Melodic Concept iii,” and will conclude with one of the most virtuosic and exciting staples of the Trinidadian Panorama repertoire: “Pan 2000” by Cliff Alexis.
