The Big Red Singers will take to the Kimball Recital Hall stage on Saturday, August 24 for an exhibition performance. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

“The Saturday performance marks the first official outing of the academic year by UNL’s Big Red Singers,” UNL faculty advisor Dr. Pete Eklund said. “It is the culmination of a week of rehearsing and coming together for the first time. It will feature new music and some time-tested favorites.”

Scott Reiker, a new incoming graduate student in the UNL School of Music studying choral conducting, will direct the ensemble. Reiker is also the current President of the Iowa Music Educators Association and is an alum of UNL's School of Music obtaining a music education degree.

A talented UNL brass ensemble will accompany the Big Red Singers. Two nationally recognized and renowned choreographers, April James and Ben Eklund, will choreograph the performance.
