I am writing to inform you about the exclusive ‘invitation-only’ Spring Strings Honors Orchestra to be held at the Glenn Korff School of Music at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln on February 20-21. Our special guest is Maestro Benjamin Rous, the award-winning professional conductor of the Virginia Symphony.
The event that will include string orchestra with Maestro Rous and students will perform in master classes with UNL’s award winning string faculty: the members of the Grammy Award-nominated Chiara String Quartet, violin soloist David Neely, Lincoln Symphony Principal Violist Clark Potter, cellist with the Trio Nuovo and Concordia String Trio Dr. Karen Becker, and EMI and Innova recording artist Dr. Hans Sturm.
Students are chosen to participate through a nomination process. To nominate a student, please contact Dr. Hans Sturm: hsturm2@unl.edu
The event is free for participating students and lunch will be provided on both days.
