Fellow Oboists and Bassoonists!
The Annual University of Nebraska - Lincoln Double Reed Day will be on Saturday, February 7, 2015. Events will take place in Westbrook Music Building on the campus of the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. As usual, Carlos Coelho will be sending supplies that can be purchased during the lunch hour at 12:30. All students, teachers and professional oboists and bassoonists are welcome to attend all events.
Our guest oboist this year will be Dr. Howard Niblock, professor of oboe at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin, and our guest bassoonist this year will be Robert Barris, who was our guest bassoonist a few years back and was on the faculty of Northwestern University for many years.
Saturday's events will consist of:
9:30 am Masterclasses of college oboe and bassoon students
11:00 am Sampler Recital of UNL college oboe and bassoon students
12:30 pm Lunch – free to all this year! (No charge for the lunch this year.)
1:30 pm High School student masterclass
3:00 pm Faculty and Guest Artist Recital
4:00 pm Reading session with all oboes and bassoons
7:00 pm Optional Reed Making session for oboists
