American Music for Brass recital coming to Kimball Recital Hall

The University of Nebraska Brass Quintet will present a recital of American Music for Brass on Monday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.

The program will feature the Nebraska premiere of Michael Tilson Thomas’ Street Song as well as the Parable II for Quintet by Vincent Persichetti. The Parable is being performed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Vincent Persichetti. The remainder of the program is devoted to the curious music of Charles Ives and the timeless melodies of Stephen Foster. The University of Nebraska Brass Quintet is comprised of the brass faculty at UNL. The membership includes Scott Quackenbush, K. Craig Bircher, Dr. Alan Mattingly, Dr. Scott Anderson and Craig Fuller.
