UNL Opera, under the stage direction of William Shomos, will perform Mozart’s masterpiece, Don Giovanni, one of the world’s most-performed operas, based on the legends of Don Juan, on Friday, November 13 at 7:30 p.m. and again on Sunday, November 15 at 3 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.
Giovanni, the young, arrogant, promiscuous nobleman, abuses and outrages nobility and peasantry alike, until he encounters something he cannot kill, seduce or outwit.
The UNL Philharmonia Chamber Orchestra is directed by Tyler Goodrich White while Jesse Wohlman, a second-year UNL master’s student in vocal performance, plays Don Giovanni.
