The term “wet ink” refers to the process that composers used before they had computer software to aid in writing music. They would write music with a fountain pen and paper and new music could be premiered before the ink was even dry.
The Wet Ink concerts on December 2 and December 3 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music’s Westbrook Recital Hall is a showcase for the undergrad and graduate composers to share brand new music in a wide variety of styles. Over the course of two nights there will be pieces for strings, choir, jazz combo, and much more; you are not going to find a more diverse program of music on any other concert at the University.
Both nights (7:30 p.m.) are free and open to the public and feature different works. The performance on the 3rd will be webcast.
