The University of Nebraska’s historic flagship choral ensemble, the University Singers, fresh still off of a triumphal performance last spring at Carnegie Hall, will perform a one-hour set of new literature on Thursday, October 13th, at 7:30 p.m. in the glorious acoustics of the new Newman Center. The concert is free of charge and open to the public.
The title of the concert will be “Lift Up Your Hearts” and will include new music written especially for this event and will include music by UNL’s David von Kampen, emerging young composers Daniel Elder, Eriks Ešenvalds, Connor Koppin, plus gems from the seminal choral repertoire by Jan Pieterszoon Sweeklinck and Johannes Brahms. There will also be a few musical surprises. The large nave of the Newman Center creates a magical space for choral music. Please join UNL’s University Singers for this exciting fall concert.
University Singers, UNL’s premiere and historic flagship large choral ensemble directed by Peter Eklund, presents the finest and most versatile choral singers in the entire University.
