Attention middle school and high school students!

UNL Department of Food Science and Technology is hosting a fall camp, Discovering Food Science: The Science of Popcorn. The half-day (8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.) camps will take place on Monday, Oct. 14 for high schoolers (Grades 9-12) and Tuesday, Oct. 15 for middle schoolers (Grades 6-8). The registration fee is $15, and registration closes Oct. 10, 2024, or when the camp is full.

 The goal of this fall camp is to allow middle and high school students (Grades 6-12) to learn about food science while experiencing authentic, hands-on learning activities. Students will learn about different corn grains and how science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) are intertwined to transform corn kernels into delicious popcorn.

Camp fee is $15. Financial scholarships are available!
