Recruitment efforts are underway for two USDA-grant funded programs offering paid professional development experiences for Nebraska high school science teachers!
The new programs will build on the success of the Cultivate ACCESS program. Since 2017, Cultivate ACCESS has worked to increase participation of underrepresented students from Nebraska in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) related agriculture, environment, and natural resource careers through:
- Virtual mentoring experiences
- Innovative experiential learning
- Paid educator professional development and community building
The two programs are similar in structure. For those HS teachers who are interested in applying for either program, applications can be submitted at the following links.
Data Science in Agriculture Educator
- Pilot interactive data science games and learning modules
- Invigorate your instruction with current data science examples
- Recruit 4-8 students to participate and create outreach materials
- 1-year commitment - $3,000 stipend
- $500 of books and resources

Climate Resilience Educator
- Join an educator community of practice
- Co-develop culturally responsive climate resilience curriculum
- Recruit 4-8 students to participate and create outreach materials
- 1-year commitment - $5,000 stipend
- $300 of books and resources
- $250 for student field trips
