The overarching goal of the course will be to explore and reflect on multidisciplinary aspects of STEM education and discuss research utilizing theoretical frameworks and current pedagogical strategies relevant to elementary STEM education.
Specific course aims include:
- To develop a deeper understanding of multiple perspectives relevant to K-5 STEM education.
- To investigate problems of practice associated with the position of science in STEM.
Guiding questions include:
- What is the current state and position of science in the STEM, STEAM, or STREAM Education Era? 
- What are current theoretical frameworks and pedagogies for elementary STEM instruction?
