Educators from Grand Island Public Schools attend the 2016 K-12 Science Education Summit.

The upcoming 2nd annual statewide K-12 Science Education Summit is Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at Nebraska Innovation Campus in Lincoln. This year’s summit will build on last year’s inaugural event and will provide an opportunity for science education stakeholders from across the state, including NDE officials, school district science directors, ESU science staff developers, science teacher educators, K-12 science teachers, and UNL faculty and students, to learn about the Nebraska College and Career Ready Standards for Science and engage with members of Nebraska’s science education community.

District administrators, school principals and teachers (K-12, who are leaders in science education) are invited to attend. The event is free and held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 11. Please spread the word to your colleagues. Register by November 20 at http://go.unl.edu/nesciencesummit.

Do you have innovative elementary, middle, or high school science instructional resources or educational materials (curricula, online learning tools, strategies, assessments, etc.) to share with science teachers? If so, request to showcase, present, and demonstrate your resources at the event. Please register and/or submit a presentation proposal by November 20 at http://go.unl.edu/nesciencesummit. We look forward to a highly engaging and productive event.

Contact us with any questions at laugustyn2@unl.edu. There is no cost to attend this event.

Sincerely,

Cory Forbes and Lindsay Augustyn
