We are currently accepting applications for a free geology field course for pre-service teachers. This is a 16-day science immersion and discovery experience in Wyoming, Nebraska and South Dakota. This course runs from June 13-28, 2019. The primary aim of this course is to expose education majors to geoscience principles to improve an educators' ability to teach inquiry, gain knowledge and understanding of geoscience, and to demonstrate effective teaching methods that can integrate geoscience into K-12 environments.

All costs for transport, food, accommodation for pre-service teachers will be covered by UNL through a grant from the National Science Foundation. In short, you will get a fantastic trip, three college credits, and amazing first-hand exposure to geoscience. Tuition and Fees for those accepted into this program will also be covered.

If you are an in-service teacher interested in taking this course, you may enroll through the Nebraska Math & Science Summer Institute (https://scimath.unl.edu/nmssi/2019/). For in-service teachers, all travel and camping costs will be covered and they are eligible for tuition scholarships.
