In the second-season finale of Faculty 101, Nebraska Chancellor Ronnie Green borrows the microphone from Bruce to interview friend Angie Pannier, professor of biological systems engineering. https://go.unl.edu/f4rb

Pannier talks about growing up in Fremont and how she came to decide between two disparate majors at Nebraska: oboe performance and engineering. She also describes the feeling of becoming faculty at the university that she says “changed my life.”

Green and Pannier then delve into her research, discussing how Pannier’s lab is trying to mimic one of viruses’ dirtiest tricks — delivering external genes into cells — for the sake of treating debilitating diseases and developing ingestible vaccines.

In the final minutes of the episode and season, Pannier explains the “book of lists” that keeps her life in order, offers some advice to incoming freshmen and touches on the ultimate goals of her work.
