Rebecca Lai, Susan J. Rosowski Associate Professor of chemistry will cover various elements in our world that are also in Harry Potter's world, including gold, silver, mercury, aluminum and silicon. It will focus on the use of these elements in the wizarding world compared to the real world.
The presentation is 7 p.m. February 19 in the Peterson Room (LS221) of Love Library South. The talk is free and open to the public.
Dr. Lai’s research focuses on developing biosensors for real-world applications, and she is known for creating a “Harry Potter x Science” education and outreach program.
