Jay Keasling, a leader in the field of synthetic biology and Husker alumnus, will deliver the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s undergraduate commencement address May 14 at Memorial Stadium. A ceremony for students earning graduate and professional degrees is May 13 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Speech and Debate Team has won a national championship — the first in the team’s 151-year history. The Debate Team earned top honors in Lincoln Douglas Debate at the National Forensic Association’s National Tournament April 15-18.
Top graduate presenters earned $400 travel grants and awards to support their research work. Top undergraduate presenters were supported by their respective colleges and provided a $250 financial award. Nearly 100 graduate students presented their work as did more than 200 undergraduates.
With a steady gait and lots of horsepower, the University of Nebraska Western Equestrian Team won the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association Western Semifinals overall team championship and are bound for the IHSA National Championship Horse Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
