Sheldon seeks student docents

The Sheldon Museum of Art is seeking volunteers to become student docents.

Student docents do not need to be artists or art historians. Each is trained by Sheldon staff to lead tours for other students and student groups. The next training session is Sept. 14 and will include information on the museum's landmark building and special exhibitions; conversations with curators and staff; and practice giving tours.

The training consists of six weekly sessions 3 to 4:30 p.m., Fridays. After training is complete, docents are expected to attend monthly meetings and artist talks to stay current on the museum's exhibitions and programs.
