UNL Husker Vote Coalition has partnered with Civic Nebraska to recruit volunteers to serve as nonpartisan Election Observers for the upcoming election in Nebraska. Election Observers spend 1 to 2 hours monitoring a polling site on election day Nov 5, 2024.

As part of their observations, Election Observers gather information and chronicle data regarding how elections are run from county to county in our state. They also record any irregularities or different treatment of voters. Volunteers will also confirm that polling places are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Election Observers must be at least 18 and live in Nebraska; must be registered to vote in Nebraska; and must attend a 90-minute training via Zoom.

The very last training is 6 p.m. October 29.. Sign up to attend the volunteer training.

HVC and Civic Nebraska use the information that is gathered to build a post-election report, which is shared with county election officials, state election officials, and the public to identify areas of success and improvement. This report also informs future legislative initiatives that can improve Nebraska voters’ experiences.
