Start the semester off with a fun celebration to bring good luck for the new year. Whether you’re familiar with the customs or new to the celebration, the Lunar New Year event promises an opportunity to experience the rich traditions, vibrant flavors, and cultural significance.
From 4:30 to 8 p.m. Jan 28, 2025, dine at the Willa Cather Dining Center to
enjoy traditional dishes such as bao buns, longevity noodles, sesame rice balls, salmon with orange sauce, and more while also learning about the meaning behind the holiday's customs.
Expect festive decorations, music, and cultural customs to celebrate the Year of The Snake. A live program will be presented from 5 to 7 p.m.
The event is open to all students, staff, faculty, and family. Cost is included with the meal plan, otherwise regular dining hall rates apply. ISSO is offering meal tickets for purchase at a reduced rate for those without a meal plan,
This is the first of three Cultural Cuisine Nights planned during the semester by International Student and Scholar Office and the Housing and Dining Services. Details for the next two events will be announced at a future date.
