The Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is hosting the seventh annual Huskers for Hearing 5K Saturday, April 27, on East Campus.
The event, which benefits HearU Nebraska and SAA, begins at 9 a.m. at the Barkley Memorial Center. For the second year in a row, a virtual option is also available for individuals who would like to participate but are unable to attend the event in Lincoln.
Online registration is available until April 26 at https://go.unl.edu/huskers4hearing5k. Participants ages 8 and older receive a water bottle with their $35 registration fee. Children ages 7 and under are free. Individuals may also register the morning of the event with cash or check payments. The virtual option costs an additional $5 for shipping, and participants are asked to email photos of their distance tracking devices to saa@unl.edu.
HearU Nebraska is a non-profit organization that provides hearing aids to children across Nebraska from birth to 18 years of age who may not otherwise be able to afford them. Since its inception in 2008, HearU Nebraska has provided 708 hearing aids to 419 individuals in 93 communities across the state.
