Discover the science behind our planet’s weather and climate—and learn how to bring it alive in your classroom—with GEOS 898: Weather, Climate, and Climate Change, offered through the Nebraska Math and Science Summer Institutes (NMSSI).

From swirling storms to shifting climates, explore what shapes our planet’s weather and climate patterns. Through interactive labs, real-world data analysis, and collaborative lesson planning, you'll learn how to guide students in understanding atmospheric science and its relevance to their lives and the world around them. This hands-on course equips you with engaging experiments, real-world observations, and ready-to-use resources. Leave with the confidence to teach your students about weather, climate, and climate change.

GEOS 898 (Class #7998, Section #691) is designed for 6th-12th grade teachers. The course will be offered via web conferencing (via Zoom) from July 7-11. The course will meet from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. CDT each day (with breaks).
