Congratulations to the newly elected members to the OLLI Advisory Council. The membership has elected Jerry Smithers and Suzanne Harder to serve as directors for three-year terms. Steve Eggland has been elected by the Council to serve as chair.
Jerry Smithers worked in advertising and creative services in radio, TV and media production for many years and is now retired. He has also served on the OLLI Marketing Committee for several years. He is interested in helping identify and understand the demographics and dynamics of the next generation of potential OLLI members.
Suzanne Harder is a retired gerontological nurse. She would like to see the OLLI program continue to provide diverse classes and modes of presentation, such as distance learning, as well as strive to increase the cultural diversity of the membership.
Steve Eggland will serve as chair of the Advisory Council for the next year. He was a 30-year member of the Chair of the Department of Vocational and Adult Education at UNL. He has significant academic and practical background in business and marketing skills.
