A documentary based in part on Nebraska’s Platte basin Timelapse project airs at 7:30 p.m., Aug. 18, on NET Television.
The “Follow the Water” documentary tells the story of the Platte River Basin as photographer Mike Forsberg, associate professor of practice in agricultural leadership, education and communication, and Pete Stegen journey for 55 days through the watershed by bike, backpack and canoe. Along the way, the duo meets with dedicated conservationists and explores what is at stake in the watershed.
In partnership with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, the Platte Basin Timelapse is a long-term documentary project that uses timelapse photography and multimedia storytelling to educate the public about the watershed.
The project was cofounded in 2011 by Mike Forsberg and Mike Farrell, associate professors of practice in agricultural leadership, education and communications. It also includes a dedicated team of scientists, producers, students and technicians.
