Having performed at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center, the Catalyst Quartet also accompanied 2018 Jazz Vocalist Grammy winner Cécile McLorin Salvant on six tracks of her winning album “Dreams and Daggers.” On their first return to Lincoln since 2014, Catalyst will appear at two venues. First, they will reach out to the community at a free mini-concert at The BAY Skateboard Park, 2005 Y, on Wednesday, September 5 at 7 pm.
Their main concert will be Thursday, September 6 at 7 p.m. at Bourbon Theater, 1415 O St. They will present selections from their “Hemispheres: South America” program, featuring works of Villa-Lobos, Vega, Piazzolla and Ginastera. Doors and bar open at 6:30 pm.
OLLI members can receive a “2 for 1” ticket price discount at the door.
