Bring a friend, neighbor or colleague with you to the OLLI open house on January 13. If they join OLLI as a new member that day, you and the new member will immediately receive a free coupon to the UNL Dairy Store. It’s our way of saying thank you for sharing your experience.
We know that there are some OLLI members that commute from Omaha to attend OLLI programs. OLLI member Nancy Kenny lives in Omaha and is interested in exploring carpooling. If you know someone who lives in or near Omaha that would be interested in sharing a ride, contact Nancy at nkenny1@unl.edu.
OLLI holds many of its courses and events at Nebraska Educational Telecommunications (NET), 1800 N. 33rd St. Starting in this upcoming term, the back doors will be locked for security reasons. You will only be able to enter the building through the front entrance.
This year, UNL celebrates 150 years of public education and service. The Nebraska Lectures: Chancellor’s Distinguished Speakers Series will explore the university’s rich history and bold new future. The opening presentation is by Charlyne Berens, UNL professor emeritus and OLLI member.
The School of Natural Resources is hosting Mike Forsberg and Pete Stegen for a documentary movie night featuring “Follow the Water” from 7 to 9 p.m., Jan. 31, at Hardin Hall Auditorium, 3310 Holdrege St. The event is free and open to the public. Parking will be provided in Hardin Hall parking lot.
The Lincoln Community Playhouse presents a Winter Comedy Festival with “Erma Bombeck: At Wit’s End” and “Finishing School” in the Studio Theatre. The Playhouse offers a ticket discount to OLLI members to some performances. Continue reading…
