Dr. Thomas Berg, a University of Nebraska history lecturer and longtime OLLI instructor, was recently inducted as an admiral into the Nebraska Navy due to his commitment and service to education to not only the undergraduates at UNL, but to members of OLLI at UNL.
Berg has gained a reputation as a polished, vibrant, and dynamic lecturer who enjoys injecting humor into his presentations.
Berg first began volunteering as an OLLI instructor in 2007, when he taught a class called “Long Shadows Cast: Famous Nebraskans.” The course drew 22 people. Now, he teaches three courses per year and average enrollment is nearly 300.
Lois Pasco and David Dyke, OLLI members, presented Berg his admiralship at his most recent OLLI class at Edgewood Theatre.
