In light of COVID-19, the University Health Center is taking several measures to ensure students’ safety as they access care.

Symptom Screening
For the health and safety of everyone, all patients must enter the building through the north doors that face patient parking. Upon entry, patients are required to wash their hands with soap and warm water and are screened for respiratory symptoms. Those with symptoms are required to wear a mask.

Although the University Health Center can test for COVID-19, we follow local health department guidelines, which prioritize testing for healthcare workers, public safety personnel, residents and employees of nursing homes and group homes as well as those attending or working at daycares, people over 60 and those with underlying health conditions.

New Visitor Policy
Because of the risk posed by coronavirus to patients, staff and the community, only patients are allowed to enter the building—no visitors. This policy will be in effect until further notice.

Virtual Visits
The health center now offers telehealth home visits to help students comply with social distancing best practices. Students who have previously received care from a health center provider and are currently located within the state of Nebraska are eligible for this service. To schedule a telehealth home visit, students should message their provider on their One Chart | Patient portal for next steps.

Contactless Pharmacy Services
The pharmacy now offers two contactless prescription options: Curbside pickup and mail order. Learn more.

Emergency Dental Care
At the guidance of the American Dental Association, the University Health Center Dental Clinic has postponed routine care services until further notice. The clinic continues to offer emergency care for toothaches, wisdom tooth pain, jaw pain, facial pain, a broken tooth, facial or gum swelling and loss of a crown. These services are available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday. Students should call (402) 472-7495 to schedule.
