New and returning students are invited to kick off the academic year by attending the annual 3-day Big Red Welcome Festival held the Friday, Saturday and Sunday before school begins. As many as 15,000 students will participate in UNL’s Big Red Welcome week events. Events include: New Student Convocation, Pep Rally, Tunnel Walk, Husker Mania at Campus Recreation, Party at the Union, Street Fair, and the Big Red Rave dance among others.
