Important updates
On August 3rd, EPA published Preliminary Interim Decisions (PID) for multiple pesticides including pyrethrins. Last week, EPA extended the comment period for an additional 30 days. In the PID document, EPA proposes to eliminate a host of agricultural, turf and ornamental, and structural pest control uses. This publication is part of the regularly scheduled registration review process, which includes opportunities for registrants to update the human health and ecotoxicity data sets needed for EPA to make registration eligibility decisions.

In addition, on August 26th, 2021 the EPA also released an evaluation for three commonly used neonicotinoid products. This evaluation is to determine if the three products are “likely to adversely affect” an organism that is listed under the Endangered species act. All three drafts can be read on the following page.
