Legislative Session Internship

Lindsay Harr MacDonald , formerly known as O’Hara Lindsay Government Relations, is seeking a Legislative Session intern for Spring Semester 2026.

We are currently accepting applications fora Legislative Sessionintern from rising juniors and seniors interested in politics, government, and advocacy. This is a paid, part-time internship offering practical office experience, prestigious networking opportunities, career mentorship, and an in-depth look at he workings
of the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature. LHM interns provide crucial support to the firm during our busiest season, becoming integral parts of our team.

Responsibilities
* Tracking legislative activity on daily agendas, summary sheets, and hearing schedules
* Assisting lobbyists by taking notes on committee hearings, conducting research, putting together
documents, and other tasks as needed
* Assisting with client communications, scheduling, coordinating meetings and lunches, and event planning
logistics
* Assisting with office and administrative tasks—tidying, re-stocking supplies, snacks, and beverages,
watering plants, putting paper in the printer, answering phones, etc.

Requirements
* Rising junior or senior enrolled in a college/university
* GPA of 3.00 or higher
* Afternoon availability

Preferred Skills & Qualities
* Excellent research, writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills
* Organized, attentive to detail, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
* Exceptional reliability, discretion, and professionalism
* Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel to prepare and format documents
