
Czechia: Justice, Legal Systems, and Law Enforcement – May 2026
The Honors Program is offering a new study abroad program this year, in tandem with the College of Law. All students are welcome, but it’s an especially great fit for Pre-Law students!
Pre-law study abroad opportunity “Czechia: Justice, Legal Systems, and Law Enforcement” in May
• Take a comparative look at the legal system, justice system, and law enforcement of the Czech Republic and the U.S. All majors are welcome!
• Earn 3 UNL credits and ACE 9, traveling 3 weeks from May 10-30, 2026, leaving 2.5 months for other summer courses, jobs, internships, etc.
• Most weekday mornings will be spent in the classroom, while afternoons will be spent exploring beyond the classroom. Meet legal professionals and visit the Czech Parliament, Constitutional Court, and the Public Defender of Rights Office. Visit museums, restaurants, chateaus, gardens, castles, breweries, and more.
• Live in the vibrant, walkable college town of Olomouc and spend a few days in Prague, the beautiful capital nicknamed “the City of a Hundred Spires.”
• Palacky University has a long history of collaboration with the University of Nebraska. This undergraduate program will run in tandem with the Nebraska College of Law, providing opportunities to network with law students and faculty.
• Program leaders: Dr. Joann Ross has a J.D. and a PhD in History, and Rebecca Baskerville has extensive experience with global learning.
• The total cost for everything is estimated at $7,871.17.
