The Center for Global Security Research (CGSR) at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is seeking to hire research associates (RAs) for Fall 2026. The job description and qualifications are on the application site Undergraduate, graduate, and PhD students, along with recent graduates, can apply. The final day to apply is May 30, 2026.
CGSR offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to conduct an independent research project related to a CGSR thrust area, provide research support to CGSR staff, and participate in CGSR workshops and lectures. All RAs are assigned a mentor during their term. Students focusing on at least one of the following areas should apply:
• Nuclear deterrence
• Arms control
• Nonproliferation
• Emerging technologies
• Cyber
• Space
• Biological & chemical security
• Energy security
