Kitten Care Attendants are responsible for ensuring that cages are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, socializing orphaned kittens, and follow Kitten Nursery Protocols in order to decrease euthanasia rates in neonatal kittens brought into the shelter.
Specific duties are as follows:

1. Bottle feed and stimulate kittens to go to the bathroom
2. Socialize kittens of appropriate age.
3. Clean cages and incubators as assigned.
4. Follow intake protocol of new kittens coming into the shelter: vaccinating, de-worming, weighing and entering into kittens into our shelter software
5. Keep up daily duties which consist of laundry, dishes, sweeping, and mopping.
6. Responsible for observing any health problems with the kittens and reporting them to the veterinary staff.
7. Medicating kittens when needed

Qualifications: Must have previous experience in caring for neonates and young kittens. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs, have good communication skills, the ability to work well with others and work independently. Must be able to use a computer and learn how to use Shelter Buddy. Must have reliable transportation and be able to work the nightshift when needed. The Kitten Care Attendant must be reliable, flexible and observant.
