We are currently recruiting students for the Animal Welfare Judging Team to compete at the AVMA’s virtual Spring Animal Welfare Assessment Contest. The team was founded in 2021 and competes each November at AWJAC, and this will be our first Spring contest. There are undergraduate, graduate, and veterinary student divisions. No previous experience is needed!
The virtual AWJAC will be held on Saturday 4/20 and Sunday 4/21. The species include in this contest are pet goldfish and cattle in mobile/small slaughter facilities. Additional information can be found on the AWJAC website: https://www.awjac.org/index.html.
The time commitment is approximately 1-2 hours per week for practice meetings, with an additional 1-3 hours each week spent researching and reviewing materials outside of practice, leading up to the contest.
