Be sure to check out internships posted on the Animal Sciences website-and fast! These were announced at the end of last semester and the application deadline window is closing, so be sure to check them out ASAP! Also, don't be put off if an internship doesn't involve direct animal or veterinary experience; internships also help you develop "soft skills" (communication, teamwork, professionalism) that are vital for a veterinarian to have. A letter of recommendation that can speak to these would add a valuable contribution to your application be it to DVM programs or employment opportunities of interest for those of you taking an intentional gap year. Note that the deadline has passed for application to some internships listed on the site, however some are still open...but not for long, so check it out ASAP!
