Even though it seems daunting, filling out your VMCAS application can be tackled the same way you tackle climbing a mountain (or any other seemingly insurmountable task): One step at a time.
Even though you may have already started your application, using the resources identified below will help ensure that you're on the right trail. Ready to start climbing?
Step 1:
Go to https://www.aavmc.org/becoming-a-veterinarian/webinars-events/
Your first step is to enroll in the VMCAS 2025 Hub. To do so, scroll down to the middle of the page and click on Enroll in the VMCAS 2025 Hub. Once enrolled you can access the dashboard of resources.
Step 2:
Click on the VMCAS Application Overview Webinar tile. This webinar provides an overview of the VMCAS 2025 Application including changes in the application, admissions requirements, resources for preparation, and tips for troubleshooting. It's intended to help you generally learn about the application process. Scroll down to the middle of the page and click on the play button to watch the webinar.
Step 3:
After you've watched the Application Overview Webinar, return to the dashboard and click on the VMCAS 2025 First Time Applicant Webinar tile. This webinar will provide a detailed overview of the VMCAS 2025 Application, including admissions requirements, resources for preparation, upcoming events, and understanding the process to a verified application. Scroll down to the middle of the page and click on the play button to watch the webinar.
Step 4:
After you've watched the VMCAS 2025 First Time Applicant Webinar return to the dashboard and click on the VMCAS 2025: Programs Available tile. This webinar will provide information about how to select programs to add to your application, see the school-specific questions (essays, other document requirements, etc.) as you select programs, how to select as many programs as you are interested in, and how to submit your application once it's ready to be submitted.
