When you need to buy goods or services and the supplier requests a contract, Julie Hopp will be there to guide you through the process. Julie has worked at the university for three years, first as a Sourcing Specialist and most recently as a Contract Specialist. This role is natural for Julie, a friendly and thorough adviser who makes contracting easier for university departments.
"I will ask questions until I understand what you need. I will ask for more details in the description of what you need and I will make you spell out every acronym. I will facilitate contracts when your department provides a service outside the University." says Julie about her desire to help the university be compliant with contracts.
When not at work, Julie shares, "My yard sign says, 'You can bury a lot of troubles by digging in the dirt,' so I will be in my flower gardens, which are all perennials, especially if weeds are perennials. My last count of flower beds is ten because when you live in the country, you can always dig another hole and plant another plant. I am a member of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum and plant trees, shrubs, grasses and perennials designated as Great Plants for the Great Plains. I love to read murder mysteries. Another yard sign says, 'Weeds for sale, pick your own, 5 cents each,' so feel free to come on down and enjoy my gardens!"
Julie loves Culver's chocolate custard with bananas and her choice for a great dinner would be the best patty melt around, at the Tecumseh bowling alley.
You'll enjoy getting to know Julie whenever you need a contract!
