Before & After School program shifts range from 7-9:15am AND/OR 2:30-5pm, Monday through Friday. Interns get hands on experience in executing lesson plans, behavior modification, active supervision, leading groups, speaking to families, and of course having FUN with students in play! In addition, interns receive trainings that includes CPR/First Aid, Understanding Child Abuse & Neglect, Classroom Management, Challenging Behaviors, and more. They also have the opportunity to attend a FSL Board Meeting, sit in on a principal and or parent meeting, shadow one of our School Community Coordinators and even lead programming to grow in their skills!
Attending the intern orientation on January 6th is required (choose from 8-12:30pm OR 2-6:30pm). Interns can subsequently start at site once the background check has been approved with the last day of the internship being May 20th (end of year for LPS).
