Lavender Graduation & Chancellor's Award

Lavender Graduation
This is a special graduation ceremony that is meant to recognize those graduates who belong to the LGBTQA community. The ceremony is presented by the LGBTQA Resource center.
The ceremony includes positive statements that can come from faculty, staff, students, as well as alumni. Lavender graduates also have the ability to cross the stage to celebrate their achievements. They also will receive a certificate and a rainbow tassel for being participants in the ceremony. Any Lavender graduate also has the opportunity to nominate a faculty or staff member who has been an advocate: someone who has provided support for an LGBTQA student or have made a significant contribution to a student’s academic progress.
To sign up for Lavender Graduation, there are forms available at the LGBTQA Resource Center, by Student Involvement, as well as on the LGBTQA Resource Center website at http://involved.unl.edu/lgbtqa-scholarship-and-awards. Those forms will need to be turned in to the LGBTQA Resource Center by March 30th so that you may be eligible to walking in the ceremony.
