Archived Story: This article is part of our newsletter archives. It has been preserved for reference, but the information may no longer be current.

The Nebraska Organizing Conference is an interactive leadership workshop where students will learn to develop and initiate progressive activist causes. A staff of young trainers from Campus Camp Wellstone and student organizations will provide an invaluable experience to those interested in: advocacy, justice, community organization, media strategy, and other types of social mobilization.

A number of valuable skills will be taught including the art of crafting and moving a message, managing and motivating people, leadership, strategic planning, and more. This is a chance for activists interested in creating change in their schools and communities to come together with like-minded students for training, networking, and fun.

Saturday night entertainment will be hosted at Lazlo’s from 7:00-10:00 pm where local artists will show how their talents can be a vehicle for social change. Spoken word, slam poetry, music, art, and food will all be provided FREE of charge. Come get to know your fellow organizers!
