The Student Leadership, Involvement & Community Engagement (SLICE) is excited to welcome to the Student Organizations & Leadership team Assistant Director Mike Jackson and Program Coordinator Isabella Flamel.
Mike (mj) returns to the SLICE Office where he started when it was Student Involvement (SI) a number of years ago. At that time, he was the Assistant Director for Marketing and Communications where he supervised a team of graduate and undergraduate students to lead the marketing and social media efforts for SI as well as the Nebraska Unions. Mike moved to the Student Life Marketing and Communication area when marketing responsibilities were centralized into its own department. He oversaw both full time and student employees as well as taking many photos across campus for Student Life. Mike loves working with students and helping them reach their full potential while cracking a joke or two that are usually terrible. In his free time, he likes spending time with his family, gaming and straining his eyes painting miniatures.
Isabella joins SLICE from the Nebraska Unions where she supervised the student employees. Prior to working for the Nebraska Unions, Isabella was a high school science teacher for 3 years. She is from western Nebraska and received her degree in 2019 from UNL. During her undergraduate years, she worked for SLICE as a student assistant. A fun fact about Isabella is that she has three dogs named after breakfast foods: Omelette, Doughnut, and Oatmeal. She is a big fan of Taylor Swift, science, and EDM music.
Isabella and Mike are excited to be a part of the SLICE team (again) and are here for you if you have any questions!
