The SLICE Office is organizing a four-day volunteer experience at Hope Faith in Kansas City, MO for UNL students for spring break. The trip dates are March 17 – 20, 2025.
During the four days in Kansas City, you will work side-by-side with the Hope Faiths team working in their shelter and outreach center for the homeless. You will sort donations in the warehouse; serve meals; unpack supply trucks; and deliver care packages to people in need. Outside of volunteering students will participate in mini excursions to learn more about the city including visits to the Power and Light District, The Plaza, Trivia nights and tours at Museums.
Complete the online registration here. To note there is a $150 registration fee required for participation which includes all costs associated with transportation, meals and housing.
Registration Deadline is February 27th. Space on the trip is limited, so priority will be given to those who submit their application first. A waitlist will be created after the initial spots are filled.
Alternative Service Breaks (ASB) is a program run out of the SLICE office that coordinates the arrangements for a group of students to work alongside a nonprofit organization during academic breaks.
